Lake Michigan Fishing Report

Fishing was up and down again this past week. Luckily, we always have Lake Trout as a resource to keep our customer’s arms aching! We have been targeting the lakers in 80-120 feet of water with Luhr Jensen dodgers and spin n glows the most effective baits. Bouncing bottom with downrigger balls and dipsys peaks the trout’s curiosity and induces strikes.

Meat rigs behind 10in spin doctors as well as white or green flashers with Poseidon flies produced salmon when we could locate them. Salmon have been tough to pinpoint where one day they are in 80 feet of water, the next day they are in 275 feet of water. In the next couple of weeks the salmon will start migrating toward the harbors when it will be time to start tempting them with jplugs in shallow water. Now is your absolute best chance to hook into a true trophy.
