Lake Michigan Fishing Report
We have spent the last week exclusively on Lake Michigan. We have experienced stellar coho salmon fishing with consistent limit catches for our guests. We have been finding the coho schooled up in anywhere between 40-200 feet of water. That’s not very specific, but the coho have been on the move almost daily. Theres really no rhyme or reason to their movements so far this spring. The key is to be prepared to search for them. When you find them, mark it on your graph and work back through the area a few times. We have been using standard coho rigs behind planer boards. We have also found that 8-inch flashers with king salmon sized flies on deep riggers has also been consistent for the coho as well as the king salmon. More and more king salmon are showing up off Milwaukee. As the lake settles into a more typical summer pattern, we will begin targeting them.
Good luck and tight lines!!
